Signatory On Truckers Bill of Lading As Agent

We issued a letter of credit requiring a truckers bill of lading. (TBOL)

TBOL was submitted stating Delivering Carrier - XXX Maritime Transport Lines

TBOL is signed for and on behalf of XXX Maritime (Beijing) Co. Ltd As agents.

- I think this is a discrepancy since the signatory did not state as agents for whom.

Any additional thoughts?

Strictly speaking, the Agent should clearly indicate on whose behalf it is acting as agents. However, depending on the location of the signature it might be construed that it is evident that the agent is acting for no other than the party identified as the carrier.

Truckers bill of lading is a paper used in local and international trade globally. It is a receiving problem by the truck once the goods have been loaded onto the container.

it is a discrepancy.

Refer to UCP article 24 a
A road, rail or inland waterway transport document, however named, must appear to:

i. indicate the name of the carrier and:

. be signed by the carrier or a named agent for or on behalf of the carrier, or

. indicate receipt of the goods by signature, stamp or notation by the carrier or a named agent for or on behalf of the carrier.
