Illegible data in document

Post by cristiand969 » Tue Feb 13, 2018 7:31 pm

Hi,
I am curious of how members of this group will interpret the following information and whether a discrepancy can be raised or not:
A SBLC required along other docs, a copy of transport document requiring only the consignee name as the applicant without any further details. As per ISBP, copy of transport document is not a transport document for scrutinity under art 19 - 25 of UCP600 and therefore it must be checked against credit terms and art 14. d - f.
However, when such a copy of transport document include details (not required by the credit or UCP600) and they are
illegible, how would you deal with such issue ? Would be a discrepancy as one cannot establish conformity with data in other docs or ignore it on the basis that such information was not required?
Thx
