B/L date vs Shipment Date on Bene Cert

Post by MinhNguyen » Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:39 am

Dear Specialists

I have a issue to be raised:

L/C stated:
"Bene certificate showing also B/L Number and date"
.
Bene Certificate presented showing B/L Number and "Shipment date" only (which is Onboard date on B/L)
.
The original B/L presented has the same on board and Issue date
.
-> Does the Bene Cert neet to state a separated "B/L Date" or "Shipment date" is enough?

Thank you for your advices

Hi Pal,

a part that words are words and a lawyer is a lawyer, IMHO, UCP 600 and ISBP 745 consider in the most of cases the on board date as issuing date of a bill of lading.(see ISBP 745 B2 c).
I think that, collectively, it is not a discrepancy.
Other comment appreciated
Ciao

Thanks for the help.
You are right about lawyers, they can help you for this matter of law. In case of litigation the lawyer will still be at your sides to help you in court. I have a lawyer that I found my on questiondedroit.ch/avocats-geneve
