Why Sub-Article 14(c) Is In UCP600

Dear Shahriar,
Here I cite you an example especially for you:
Credit issue date: 01.05.08
Last date of shipment:30.05.08
Credit require: Bill of lading as per article 20.
Credit mentioned no expiry date.
Let assume: Sub article 14(c) is not in UCP 600.
Liability of the issuing Bank is for undefinite period of time.

Now cosidering the sub article 14(c)
althought credit doesn't stipulate expiry date here issuing Bank's liability is for definite period of time. i.e the beneficiary must have to present document within 21 day calader days after the shipment date.
i think I can make you understand what i want to mean during telephonic conversation.

I just mantion another point here.

If the credit do not mention the date for presentation than this artical will also be applicable.

first of all a credit must state an expiry date as per ucp. the case you are talking about is actually ignores two rules of ucp. 1. expiry date and article 14c. if rules are not there, anything is possible.
