please guide for the Bank Gaurantee for issuance of duplicate Bill of Lading. Original B/L is lost.

Hi Pal,

unfortunately you must accept a wording presented by the shipping company, with some clauses not very fair.
We have to say that the bill of lading doe not contain the value of the goods, so the shipping company will ask for a bank guarantee amounting to the double of the extimated cargo value and valid, may be, five years.
So no bargain, only acceptance.

Hi Pal,

IMHO, it is better to ask a Shipping Company, locally. Moreover for the amount and the expiry date it would be necessary to discuss and obtain more favourable conditions. So contact some friends at a shipping company, wording can vary according to the Area.
Try in Internet too.

You should search for the cases where the original B/L relating to shipment is lost. Also for for reissued B/L. Those topics may help you find about bank guarantees as well.
