Hi
According to sub-Articles a.i. 19 ,20 and 21 of ucp 600 a transport documents must appear to be signed by the carrier or a named agent for or on behalf of the carrier or ...
what is difference between acting as an " Agent for " and acting as an "Agent on behalf " ?

I don't think there is difference between "agent for " and "on behalf of" provided the signature complies with the UCP600.

agree with ofei. there is no difference. both means that that the one (legal entity) who signs is for another (legal) person.

Don't hurry with such assumptions as only an english native speaker can answer this question.
I my view, notwithstanding I am not a english native speaker, still consider there is a difference as far as legal is concerned , but I will refrain from making comments without a comprehensive explanations. I will ask my legal department and come back to you soon.

if i am not making a mistake, i have read this issue earlier and that time it was validated by someone famous that these two are the same. but i forgot the source. anybody?
