Recent ICC Opinion On Charter Party Bill Of Lading
has anyone gone through the recent ICC opinion of charter party? im bit disappointed with the opinion in fact. i was thinking that the rule will be relaxed this time. at the last, ICC commented that the title "Charter party BL" would be sufficient to treat it under UCP article 22. this is in-consistence with the so called however named theory and therefore discrepant . whats your opinion?

Re: recent icc opinion on chather party bill of lading
dear ilc,
charter party and liner bill of lading are two very different kind of bill of lading. it is least likely that one will be used interchangeably for another. i think that answers the question.

Re: recent icc opinion on chather party bill of lading
Dear ILC,
Perhaps the ICC would have liked to point out that a Bill of lading making any reference that is subject to charter party is a charter party bill of lading. Therefore the title of document implies that is a document subject to a charter party.
I would not expect to have a document titled Charter party bill of lading and actually to be a liner B/L.
This is from my personal and logical point of view.
regards
Cristian
