Dear Gurus,
I have another question, our supplier despatched the consignments by sea against two purchase orders.
Order 1 pertains to mode of shipment is by sea & mode of payment is L/C
Order 2 pertains to mode of shipment by sea & mode of payment is T/T.
my question is this how i can clear the goods from custom authorities without original shipping documents for order 2, because without original shipping documents of order 2 we cannt take delivery from custom authorities and material will remain under heavy demurrages.
for order # 1. supplier should endorsed the original documents in bank & his bank forward these documents to our bank for consignment clearance and without original shipping documents we cannot take delivery from custom authorities and material will remain under heavy demurrages.
but the problem is the supplier despatched the both consignments under one bill of lading. ve just received the copies of original shipping docs. & on copies of shipping docs we cannot take delivery from custom authorities they always demanded original shipping docs in TT & BYAIR cases.

I will first summarize you case;
two shipment, one under a LC and another is under a TT (or a open account trade). the beneficiary submitted only one set of document including only one BL. your questions
1. how to release the goods without original document?
2. How to release the goods with one set of documents which includes both the consignment?
am i correct in understanding? if yes then my position is
1. You can release the goods without original documents using a shipping guarantee; a guarantee issued by the bank in favor of the carrier. this may also include a NOC from your bank to the custom authority.
2. well, without detail i really can answer the question; how the invoice is made, what does the packing list shows etc. could you please give us the merchandise detail shown on the documents in contrast with the LC?
