30 Days Presentation Period And Stale Document

Post by Anurag » Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:16 am

LC Says: presentation period : 30 days after the date of shipment but within the expiry date of credit.

Documents presentation on 29th day after the date of shipment within validity of l/c.

Question 1. : Is this presentation will be acceptable? 2. Question : Can we consider this presentation is stale presentation or not?

Hi Pal,

art 2 UCP 600 states "Complying presentation means a presentation that is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the credit, the applicable provisions of these rules and international standard banking practice.
Art 14 c, indicates 21 days as a default period, applicable if a different period of time is stated in the credit.
Other comments appreciated.
