Dear Sirs
I'd like to ask about the case when L/C issuing date is not written in the Contract.
The payment should be made by l/c under the contract,
but it is silent about issuing date of L/C.
But, the contract says the latest date of shipment is April 13th of 2014.
Then, I wonder if it is reasonable to interpret the contract as even though LC issuing date is not provided,
the importer must open L/C before April 13 of 2014, which is the latest date of shipment.
Or is there any other standard for interpretation on the L/C issuing date when it's not written in the Contract?
Your answer will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

LC issue date in a contract
If LC issuance date not mentioned in the contract it gives choice to importer to issue the LC b4 latest shipment date. I suggest you must incorporate clause regarding expiry of the contract which can b as follows
1. Contract is valid for 15 days frm its issue date.
2. Contract will expire 1 week from its issuance date
3. Contract expiry date is _______
Hope the situation is clear other comments will b appreciated.

Danish
