Does The Bill Of Lading Requires On Board Notation?

Dear ALL

LC required:
Port of Loading: Hong Kong Port
Port of Discharge: Sihanouk VIlle Port

Bill of Lading presented with the following information.
Place of receipt: Hong Kong Port , Precarriage: Acee Tra
Port of Loading: Hong Kong Port, Vessel.....(not mention vessel)
Port of Discharge: Sihanouk ville port
On the body of BL show Mother vessel name Evas Tra

Please kindly help clarify the corrected issue of BL and explain whether the BL need on board notation.

Hi Pal,

IMHO, an on board notation indicating the mother vessel name, a date and port of loading will be necessary to make the b/l acceptable.

As there is an indication of Pre-Carriage the B/L Must contain an on board notation with port of loading and a named vessel .
for more details see ISBP-745 E6.

Hi ,

For Onboard notation the below article has to be complied with:-
"indicate that the goods have been shipped on board a named vessel at the port of loading stated in the credit by .."

Now here the vessel (on the body of the B/L) Should clearly identify that it refers to port of loading as stated in the credit.

If you cannot make a reference to this then this is not acceptable.

A dated on board notation is required with name of the vessel and port of loading as there is an indication of a means of pre-carriage in BL.

Hi,

Whenever BL indicates pre carriage, there must sate on board notation complete with the vessel name and port of loading stated in credit _ISBP 745 E6.c

hello,

according to 2010 guidance paper ICC 470/1128 on 'on board notation' which now is incorporated in ISBP745
the matter of on board notation related to our case is evolving about the existence of pre-carriage mean either vessel/truck or others in most cases in a pre-carriage or place of receipt field, there must be an on board notation with port of loading stated in the credit, vessel leaving this port and on board date.
