How to request confirming bank to waive interest for delay payment -4 days. Confirming bank sent claim with value date 12/31/15. Documents received at issuing bank 12/30 and examination incorrectly claimed a discrepancy BL missing carrier name. Confirming bank replied that the carrier names was some where in the BL document. 2nd examination found it BL correct and payment done 1/4/16 dues to holidays in US bank was close 1/1 thru 1/3 . Confirming bank is claiming 4 days of interest. Any chance we can have confirming bank waive the claim or reduced the interest to 1 business day only?

might be possible
well it might be possible. Contact the correspondent relationship department of the confirming bank. Quite often they consider small interest amount if you have good business history with them.
