could someone please explain me what is actually meant by "separate notation of the flight date" in relation to the date of shipment of an airway bill?

air way bill

Hi Pals,

The bank needs sometime to have extra proof of something, the air way bill is not a proof of goods departure from an airport, but only a receipt of goods by the carrier or better its agent, in the(probably) warehouse near an airport. Icc accepted those needs by stating in UCP that in case of request of "an actual flight date" it would be sufficient a notation (not signed) on the document(AWB) or in a specifically designated area in the AWB. However, while an "on Board" notation, follows a "received for shipment" bill of lading, actual flight date in an AWB is only a mere LARK MIRROR to satisfy issuing bank, but it does not mean that goods have been already airshipped.

Other comments appreciated

specific notation of the actual date

Post by Ozoda » Thu Mar 12, 2009 8:39 pm

I have never seen Air Transport document with the specific notation of the actual date of shipment.
Have anyone the AWB with the specific notation of the actual date of shipment?? If yes, could you please attached it here.
Thank you in advance.

We had in practise the AWB with the flight date, which is not not be considered as a shipment date...
