Port Of Discharge E8 (B) ISBP 745

Post by dinesh2476 » Tue Aug 16, 2016 2:49 am

Port of discharge
E8 (b) ISBP 745
b. However, the named port of discharge may be stated in the field headed “Place of final destination” or words of similar e-ect provided there is a notation evidencing that the port of discharge is that stated under “Place of final destination” or words.......Felixstowe. What is purpose of having such clause in the ISBP?

Lc calls for
44E AAAA
44F BBBB

If bill of lading states the following. would that be considered as discrepancy?
pre printed text: Port of discharge BBBB, wherein the content of the bill of lading states port of discharges is CCCC

or above ISBP (E8 (b) ISBP 745) is just to give an option to mention Port of discharge anywhere in the bill of lading rather than pre-printed text in the bill of lading???

It is a discrepancy as it is inconsistency within document.

Hi Pals,

bankers have no complete knowledge of Sea Carriage, Bill of Lading etc. so it was decided to extend the mere interpretation of transport routing allowing the possibility to accept bills of lading where the goods have been pre carriaged then put on board a vessel at a specific port. So for Port of discharge, if a bill of lading indicated this point in a
box "place of final destination" or "place of destination" or the like but contains a notation that the same place is "port of discharge" the bill of lading in compliant. I dare say this scenario POD in bill of lading Genova, place of final destination La Spezia or Livorno, L/c required POD La Spezia or Livorno, frankly it is impossible to know by the bill of lading if the goods were transported from Genova to La Spezia or Livorno, by feeder vessel, by truck or by train. The shipping company will clause the bill of lading " "port of discharge " La Spezia(or Livorno). Transport terms and conditions allows the shipping company to further carry the goods by different mean of transport.
Other comments appreciated

Ciao

Bl is discrepant.
But if there is a reverse scenario such as pre printed text: Port of discharge CCCC, wherein the content of the bill of lading states port of discharges is BBBB, then it os okay as per your LC terms.
