Dear All Friends,
As per article No.14 (i) - A Document may be dated prior to the issunace date of the credit, but must not be dated later than its date of presenation".
Could you explain us why should not document may be date between issuance date and last date for presetation? Does it have any provision? or what is intention to provide documents dated prior to issuance date?.
Please explain with example for same.
Thanking you

difference in issuing L/C
Hi Pals,
sometime l/C will be requested when goods are already "en route ", so some documents could be issued at the time of shipment, before the issue of a L/C. A document dated after the l/c expiry or after the presentation period is discrepant, because it is issued when the l/c was not more available.
Other comments appreciated
