Post by mando@vsnl.net » Sat Feb 21, 2009 10:50 am

Banking Day means on which bank is regulary open at place at which an act subject to these rules is to be performed

Could you elaborate " An act subject to these rules is to be performed" ?.

Generally Monday to Friday are Banking days except in Middle East - " SUNDAY to Thursday are Banking Days.

Please how do we define or conclude Banking days.

I think it's the best definition for Banking days.

I guess the UCP600 have choosed the best wording for this article by the definition "An act subject to these rules is to be performed."

Noting that a working day, may not be considered a banking day even if the shipping documents were received then, for example;

I work in a bank which operates under a centralized mailing system, this means any documents that are received by our centralized mailing department will never examined until it reach our counters at the examination department where the ACT of examination is being exercised eventually.

This is why the UCP600 did not use the term "Five Banking day" as an examination period,instead it used "Five Working Days".
