ISBP A11

Dear all,

re ISBP article A11, can i request an opinion on the following:

the paragraph ends with the wording 'as applicable' therefore - on a 'received for shipment' bill of lading that clearly shows the on-board date, would you also expect to see a separate issue date on the B/L (in this particular case the box stating 'date and place of issue' is empty).

My opinion would be that it would still need to show the issue date as well, even though this is not being taken as the shipment date.

Comments welcome!

many thanks and regards

Hi Pal,

the wording in various transport document differs, concerning the date of issue, for instance, the art 20 does not require a date of issue, where art 23 it is a necessary datum..
