Dear Experts,
we need expert opinion on the below ISBP paragraph E19(c).
contrary to the above paragraph citing different vessels or the same vessel for a different journey, we have transaction with multiple bill of lading and LC allows partial shipment and goods are being shipped with same vessel, same journey and same destination. Please advise the date to be used for calculation of presentation period earliest of on board date or latest of on board date.
Thanks &Regards

Hi Pal,
para B2 e iii ISBP 745 may be applicable in your case(in effect the vessel could have left the port only after the latest on board notation)
Let me know

Dear Picant,
while most would understand the maturity date calculation part - BL with multiple on board notation and multiple bill of lading, we request your opinion to understand the latest date for partial shipment prohibited and earliest date for partial shipment allowed cases.
why are two different approaches
to my knowledge - Partial shipment prohibited - we should consider latest BL date with LSD because that is the expectation from the applicant to have bill of lading routed to port of discharge within 21 days from the bill of lading date to arrange for warehouse etc... However, do not understand the reason for earlier shipment date for partial shipment allowed cases with multiple bill of ladings... Is it just to ensure that subsequent bill of lading does not take long time to present along with other bill of ladings. In a nutshell, BL 1 dated 01st in order to comply with presentation period 21 days, remaining bill of lading to be made available with in 21 days. cannot take long time.
I tried to understand from existing post by experts but failed.
As a keen followers of your opinion... looking for your detailed explanation to the followers here.
Thanks & Regards

Re: Transhipment, partial shipment and determining presentation period
Hi Pals,
Para B2 ISBP /45 affirms that:
when a credit requires shipment from a geographical area or range of ports, transhipment could occur at ports within the same area or range. In this case, either date appearing in an on board notation can be used for the calculation of the maturity date.Logic will dictate, however, that the earliest date will be used as this will provide an earlyy maturity date for the beneficiary.
A part it is more suitable to CP Bill of lading, it is just a problem of transhipment, no partial shipment.
