Invoice issued by a company who has acquired Beneficiary of the LC

Post by Vinothkumar » Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:32 pm

Hi,

LC is issued in the name of Company A. Subsequently Company B has acquired Company A and the name of Company A changed as B legally.

Now Company B issues Invoice and presents documents to Issuing bank. Invoice letterhead titled in the following manner:
"Company B (Formerly known as Company A)"

Can the Issuing bank accept documents or quote discrepany for Beneficiary name?

Regards
Vinoth

Hi Pal,

this is explained in ISBP 745 C2 b. Acceptable, no doubts!
