Payment Term Directly Related To The Customs Clearance Date

Hi all,

What is the lengthiest LC payment term? (well, :p)

Say for example 30 days from acceptance is much longer than 30 days from the date of delivery. So, days from acceptance is lengthier than days from delivery.

is there any payment term directly related to the customs clearance date?

Thank you all in advance.

Zia.

I've never heard of payment from customs clearance date. Usually it is made by at XXX days after sight or issuance of drafts or bill of lading.

Hi Pal,

we have a so called FISH CLAUSE, l/c states that the issuing bank will release the documents to applicant free of payment, the issuing bank will be released of its undertaking if the Custums/Health Office will
comunicate that the goods have been not passed the import formality.
This notice will be accepted if received not later than .... days from the taking up of documents by the applicant.
So in few words, the customs clearance could play a big role.
