Dear friends,
can anyone tell me how do you gain PDUs on 'dcprofessional'. I have read that you can get up to 12 PDU, but I don't quite understand how. Is it enough to participate on their forum or is it something else?
thanks for your help
regards

Hi,

you have to claim PDUs from IFS at the time of re-certification. you will need to produce your subscription detail. i really font think IFS will look into how actively you are participating into the forum. no to mention there are much CHEAPER PDUs available in the market :D

just check this link and you will have a fair idea

http://orders.coastlinesolutions.com/

most of the course listed here are PDU bearing. if you got for DCPro, it wil cost Euro 7500 for 12 PDU. First year you go for DC master (12 pdu) and 2nd year for ISP master (12 PDU). you have 24 PDU in Euro 600 only :) and if you wish to be safe, then go for INCOTERMS in 3rd year.

you will also find some professional trainer who can offer PDU. you just need to join their training session for 1 day they usually offer 4 PDUs.

you can signup for CITF for Euro 600 and that will give you 16 PDU! although i think there is hardly a bit of UCP in that course. but its still a good deal :D

PDU stands for Professional Development Units.
To retain the CDCS designation, holders are required to complete 24 PDUs in every three years. Activites related to documentary credit and international trade rewards you with PDU. The Ifs has the following on PDUs
PDUs may be earned as listed in the following categories:
1 One PDU is awarded for each 50-60 minute session or contact hour
(including questions and answers) in topics related to documentary credits
and/or international trade.
2 A maximum of 6 PDUs for quizzes and accompanying articles that
have been specifically approved by IFSA or ifs.
3 A maximum of 12 PDUs is awarded annually for a college/university level
course in a related topic area.
4 An advanced degree (post-graduate) in any financial services related area is
awarded 16 PDUs.
5 Two PDUs are awarded for each published page in a related topic area. A
maximum of 12 credits may be earned in this category within each three-year
recertification cycle.
6 Two PDUs are awarded for each speaking/teaching/ presentation hour (50-60
minutes) in a related topic; similar presentations may only be submitted once
per three-year recertification cycle unless the content is sufficiently varied. A
maximum of 12 PDUs may be earned in this category in each three-year
recertification cycle.
7 Two PDUs are awarded for each year of volunteer service to BAFT-IFSA/ifs
or other industry relevant organizations in related topic areas. If in any doubt
whether an activity is acceptable, please contact IFSA or ifs. A maximum of
six PDUs may be earned in this category within each three-year recertification
cycle.
8 A maximum of 16 PDUs may be earned by passing the CITF examination,
providing this is completed within your current CDCS three-year cycle.
9 Although PDUs may be earned in categories 1-8 above, holders may, within
the three-year recertification period, prefer the alternative option of taking the
current CDCS examination. A pass in the examination will earn 24 PDUs.

Thanks a lot....
