Dear Friends

May I know if there is any explanation by ICC of how to respond to an invalid descrepancy or refusal of documents by the issuing bank? How should the beneficiary respond to that..? I mean obviosuly he would ask him bank but are there any conditions/guidelines to repond to the refusal of documents by the issuing bank?

Dear Asim,

to the best of my knowledge, there is no such guideline. in fact its hard to guide since the answer will depend on the type of discrepancy raised. in general, the nominated bank is suppose to refute any invalid discrepancies in the light of appropriate rule.

Dear Friend,

You may reject the refusal of issuing bank stating your reasons of rejection in light of UCP, ISBP and terms and conditions of the LC by using any expeditious means of communication.

No guideline or manner, as far as I know, described by ICC.
