deal all,

today i found this clause

"Freight Forwarder House Bill of Lading is acceptable provided that the Bill of lading issued by the actual carrier shows the freight forwarder as the local agent of the actual carrier"

the LC allows airway bill in addition to a bill of lading. whats ur opinion on this clause? whats the issuing bank actually looking for. will this clause apply for AWB?

Dear shahriar,
The issuing bank seems a bit confused in understanding the signing issue of UCP on a bill of lading. Anyway, the issuing bank may make some modifications to UCP600. What's important is your documents must comply with the terms and conditions of the credit.
From the clause itself, it does apply to both B/L and AWB.

this a total confusing clause. whats the meaning of forwarder house BL. do they mean BL signed by Freight forwarder or BL issued by freight forwarder signed on the capacity of the carrier? try to assume anything is simply a waste of time. ask the issuing bank. i also do not think that this clause will apply for airway bill as well.

This clause has no real effect on the document in question or to UCP as does not modify anything.
A very unexperienced person may issued such a credit.
