“received for shipment” bills of lading is issued by ocean carriers when the goods arrives at the loading terminal before the arrival of the vessel. this type of BL does not communicate that that goods have been loaded on board and hence is not a complete one. this type of bill of lading generally have a additional shipped on board notation.
