dear all,

as per ISBP, if the credit says "freight forwarder Bill of lading is acceptable, it may be signed by the freight forwarder on the capacity of the freight forwarder. but when LC calls "freight forwarder bill of lading not acceptable, the clause is considered as ambiguous. why? why cant we say in the later case that the bill of lading may not be signed by the freight forwarder?

good question. my understanding says that UCP is a system of payment. so it always tries to reduce discrepancies and facilitate payment. the ISBP standing on the freight forwarder is just a step towards that.
