Customer claiming a loss to our bank due to the fact that we did not returned originals including BL . Is there a remedy for customer to get an original to be reissue if he needs to provide proof of shipment to the insurance?

Complicated
Hi Pal,
first of all are the docs sent under URC? If yes, the liability is for your customer that may report to the authority the loss of documents and depending if to the order or consigned, ask the shipping company for a replacing bill of lading etc.
It may cost time and money.
However it depends on the documents, specially in which way the bill of lading has been filled.
Other comments appreciated
