Hi all!
I have one case not clear.
Goods are shipped by a pre-carrier vessel and transshipment is effected onto an ocean vessel.
How should we show both of vessel on the bill of lading? or we no need to state pre-carrier?

Pre-Carriage – Anything that happens BEFORE the container is loaded
On-Carriage – Anything that happens AFTER the container is discharged
To explain further :

Pre-Carriage - is the term given to any inland movement activity that takes place prior to the container being loaded at a port of loading.. Such activity can take place at the same location as the port of loading, or at a location close to the port of loading.. Example : Empty container is released in Johannesburg and moved to Pretoria for packing and then moved by road or rail to Durban port.. This activity is known as PRE-CARRIAGE.. In this case, normally the bill of lading shows place of origin as Pretoria.

Hence if pre carriage is the same as definition above there is no need to show it and if by any chance shipping co wants to show it it can be shown in pre carriage field and main mother vessel can be shown in the field of exporting vessel field. However there is no need to show the pre carriage vessel name.
