Can BL in case of a FOB incoterm show freight prepaid ?.
or
Can BL incase of a CIF/CFR incoterm show freight collect?

Hi Pal,

any arrangement by the parties is ok, however in requesting a bill of lading in a l/c you must indicate if freight is prepaid or collect to avoid any conflict.

I think that the parties should adopt the right incoterm which correctly demonstrates the negotiated terms. for example, for FOB, stating freight prepaid doesn't correctly reflect that freight was intended to be borne by the buyer.

If there is a dispute then legally also there may be adverse positions/ judgements.
