LC states the latest date of shipment as 09 Jun 2016 and the expiry as 30 Jun 2016,
LC is silent on the period of presentation and also states ‘"Stale Bills of Lading Acceptable”.
Documents presented on 01st May 2016 with the Bill of Lading dated 01st April 2016 refused by
the Issuing Bank stating Late Presentation (not presented within 21 days after the BL date as per
article 14.c UCP600)..
The negotiating Bank does not agree with the reason for refusal.

Is negotiating bank correct on its action ?

negotiating bank correct.

As per ISBP A19, b:

When stale docs acceptable, documents may be
presented later than 21 days after the date of
shipment provided they are presented before
the expiry date of the credit.
.
Therefore, negotiating bank is correct, no discrepancy.

I agree with Mr Navi, no presentation period + "Stale Bills of Lading Acceptable”, the Ben may present documents after 21 days after the shipment date but within the LC validity

Dear ,
this can not be raised for discrepancy, because "Stale Bills of Lading Acceptable” is stipulated in the l/c, the presenter presents docs within the L/C validity.
