Dear Experts,
Need expert opinion as the public site states different
Who pays unloading charges under the below incoterms:
CFR
CIF
CPT
CIP
DAT
DAP
DDU
Neither explicit condition in the LC nor in the contract of carriage with carrier.
If i see any of these incoterms in the LC, what is the general understanding that should i have
on the unloading charges from the vessel.

Unless explicitly stated in the L/C, you are not allowed to go beyond UCP and/or ISBP to interpret the INCOTERMS (which one???) regarding costs incurred with unloading the goods.

agreed with Cristiand1969, however Incoterms 2010 indicate buyer for CFR,CIF,CPT,CIP and DAP, Seller for DAT, DDU is Incoterms 2000 and are for buyer. Remember that sales contract may change liability for
these costs.

As Advised by Picant, sales contract May changes the liability of the costs, in general the Incoterms are F,C,E and D. Terms beginning with F refer to shipments where the primary cost of shipping is not paid for by the seller, Terms beginning with C deal with shipments where the seller pays for shipping. E-terms occur when a seller's responsibilities are fulfilled when goods are ready to depart from their facilities, D terms cover shipments where the shipper/seller's responsibility ends when the goods arrive at some specific point. Because shipments are moving into a country, D terms usually involve the services of a customs broker and a freight forwarder. In addition, D terms also deal with the pier or docking charges found at virtually all ports and determining who is responsible for each charge.
