Dear Experts,
what is the between agent of the carrier or branch of the carrier under BL signature.
while i understand that agent is operating on behalf of carrier with regard to managing documentation process and eligible to sign in bill of lading
why is there a requirement for a branch of carrier to sign a bill of lading.. under which scenario a branch of the carrier comes into picture and signs a bill of lading as a branch carrier?
Thanks & Regards

just found Opinion R754/TA750 rev 2009 2011 that illustrates reasons for acceptability of b/l
signed by a carrier branch
