Dear Experts,
Why does local law's of few countries allow to make a claim till certain period after expiry date of the GRT?
Expiry date of the GRT 01 Oct 2019 wherein the person allowed to make a claim till 15th Nov 2019.

Is this in relation to guarantee? If that is the case, that is ``mailing period``. Most guarantee transactions are cross-border. In case beneficiary sends claim on expiry date or right before expiry date, it might take time to reach guarantor`s end. So, it is not uncommon to set up claiming expiry date other than guarantee expiry date. Normally, it is 15 days as claim period. But it depends on each bank`s internal policy.
