Packing List and its function

Post by docwarrior » Tue Oct 01, 2019 10:12 pm

Moin, Moin from Hamburg!
Dear all,
we had a very tough discussion abt the function of a packing list in our company.
In my opinion packing list has to show if and how goods are packed. If goods a not packed, it has to be mentioned. When packing list only shows qty of pcs and gross/net weight it does not fullfill its function. Am I right??? My collegues argued that doc is titled packing list referring to ISBP 745, M1, "... satisfied by the presentation of a document titled as called for in the credit ..." so it is compliant.
Whats your point of view? Thanks in advance.
René

Basically, the surface of packing list looks the same as invoice. Only that packing list contains detailed information on goods such as net weight and gross weight, etc. Not really need to indicate how goods is(are) packed unless otherwise LC requires.
