Debit Note and Credit Note

Post by Raihan » Sun Oct 20, 2019 5:52 pm

Recently one supplier sent a short sea shipment.

Total Inv Qty: 80 Drums
Physically Received Qty:78 Drums
In amount: $750 has been received less.

As the payment term was sight ,our bank transferred the inv value to the beneficiaries bank.

Now my question is - How i can recover the amount? Is there any option to recover the amount by issuing debit note / credit note. Or there is other way?

Hi,

You should sent the information to the supplier with the debit note for short landing.

Thanks

refer to article 30 b and c , in respect of quantity of the goods , if credits stipulates number of packaging units or individual items , tolerance is not acceptable and since in your case drums quantity were mentioned 8 pieces , bank can consider this presentation of documents not complying.

but you must also consider if credit permitted partial shipment and this was sent as first shipment , it can be considered as complying presentation.
