One Airway bill copy

Post by keihkwong » Mon Jan 06, 2020 7:22 am

Dear Expert,

We have encountered the difficulty of how to define the LC requirement of " Original " and " Photocopy " for documents to be presented.

According to ISBP A29D,

Quote
“Invoice”, “One Invoice”、“Invoice in 1 copy”, or “Invoice - 1 copy”, it will be understood to be a requirement for an original invoice.
“photocopy of invoice” or “copy of invoice” will be satisfied by the presentation of either a photocopy, copy or, when not prohibited, an original invoice.
Unquote

Would anyone tell me what documents should be presented to fulfill the LC requirement in case " one airway bill copy " shown in the context of LC.

Thanks for your valuable comments in advance.

Dear expert,

Further to my below email.

Could anyone advise your comment if
1) Original of Airway bill
or
2) Photocopy of Airway bill

should be presented to the nominated bank for payment. Thanks

You did not define 'the context of L/C' For example it is possible that LC to mention that other docs to be presented in one original/one original and xx copies. In this scenario, it is understood that airwaybill in one copy is a requirement for a copy of doc, not for an original.
It is worth to mention that even the LC requires AWB in original, you should present the original one that is marked 'original for shipper'
