Hallo,

I have a query on L/C clause :

Original & 2 copies clean on board ocean bills of lading Issued and Notify to XYZ, indicating Freight Prepaid

From what i understand the consignee & notify party should be XYZ whom is the applicant as well.

Bank quoted discrepancies that "BL showing Consignee not called by LC'.

Please clarify.

You may better ask the bank what should you mention in consignee field and they will find themselves trapped in such silly discrepancies. They have a duty to ask for clarification if credit conditions are not clear .As for me, the consignee should be XYZ but not TO THE ORDER of XYZ.
