Signatures Required on Covering Schedule

Hello,
I have the question, if a covering schedule/cover letter that accompanies documents under a letter of credit actually requires any signature under UCP 600 or ISBP or any other rules by ICC.
Often you can see covering schedules stating "This is a computer-generated letter and requires no signature" or "Form without signature". Are there any requirements for signatures?
Many thanks in advance,
Alex
