HELLO SIRS:

CAN ANY ONE CONFIRM TO ME THAT IT IS NECESSARY THE ISSUING DATE OF CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN TO BE BEFORE THE SHIPMENT DATE/SHIPPED ON BOARD DATE OR ISSUANCE DATE OF CERTIFCATE OF ORIGIN AFTER SHIPPED ON BOARD DATE WILL BE ACCEPTABLE FOR CLEAN NEGOTIATION.

Hi Pal,

usually a certificate of origin must be signed and dated, but may refer to a dated document of the same l/c presentation. ISBP 745 A12 allows a date later than shipment date. For some certificates, EUR 1, GSP Form A, it is necessary, for Customs, clause them with "issued retrospectively".
