prompt

Dear Sir,
in the following UCP article, few words are decided to be disregarded. my question is about the term document. does it mean that a credit may have these terms?

Unless required to be used in a document, words such as “prompt”, “immediately” or “as soon as possible” will be disregarded.

how to understand whether a document require these words?

In fact your querry includes the answer---just disregard it. So if a document still contains such terms, the banks won't check those terms. In practice, there are fewer and fewer such terms.
