Expiry date for insurance policy?

Post by Navi » Tue Apr 28, 2009 6:09 pm

Dear friends,
We were presented an insurance policy stating:
Beginning date: 18.04.2009
Expiry date: 01.06.2009
.
No further details/explanations for expiry date. What is the meaning of that date? Is the document acceptable?

regards

Para 175

Para 175 of ISBP indicates that an insurance document that incorporates an expiry date must clearly indicate what that expiry date refers to. Does it refer to the latest date of loading of goods? (If yes, the document is acceptable.) Does it refer to the latest date for presentation of any claims there under? (This is not acceptable.)

In the case indicated by you, since the meaning of the expiry date is not mentioned, this may be a discrepancy.
