Dear all,
I received a BL which shows, "One BL must be surrendered ....."
i read somewhere that such is not in with the spirit of actual use of BL. can some one tell me why?

Re: One BL must be surrendered
Dear Dholat,
Can you answer to a question by actually seing just a few words from that... ? I guess no.
If my assumption is correct the continuation is .. 'in exchange of the goods' which actually means that such document fulfill its function (i.e Bill of lading as a title of property should be surrendered in exchange of the goods)
Regards
Cristian

i agree with cristian. besides i also think that you are talking about "carrier may release the goods without the BL...." or something like this. the line you have quote is fully is in line with the function of BL
