Hi Pal,

from technical point of view a forwarders certificate, indicating the irrevocable despatch of the goods to consignee, will suffice. But banks in l/c still require bill of lading. !
Other comments appreciated

Not so good INCO term for LCs

Post by Armagedo » Sun Feb 23, 2014 3:44 pm

Hi!
Even technically there is no place the "forwarder" to appear at suppliers "works" :)
EXW being the minor term in respect of seller's obligations puts the only responsibility onto latter shoulders - to confirm readiness of the goods to be further picked-up by (delivered to) the Buyer.
So, technically I would look to simple Seller's (beneficiary) certificate of goods readiness.

But, of course, this will hardly work with banks :D

From other side, even FCR (not mentioning any kind of "transport" document) is out of Seller's obligations and risks. :-?

Hi,

It would help to know your position in the transaction. Are you the beneficiary of the LC or the applicant?

What documents should be required under Exworks

Although your question is not crystal clear, i could say that the main documnts a supplier is liable to furnish the buyer under ExWorks sale term are: Packing list/commercial invoice.
There is no transport documnts as it s the buyer or his nomintaed forwader who picks up goods at the buyer`s premises.
However, this is always open to discussion. There is no one single answer for this question

EXW

Dear all,
I think although LC mention EXW, as a bank we still need a proof that the goods is ready to pick up by the buyer.
As per my experience, we required a delivery order to proof it.
.
Thank you

We will provide the only Invoice & Packing List to Consignee nominated forwarder & they will provide us the TRANSPORT DOCUMENTS ( Airwazy BIll) after Custom Clearance & after that all documents will be forward from Bank to Bank.

Further comment will be appreciated.
