Dear friends,
How much detail of the goods do you include in your lc? If i say "orange blade coaxial cable rg 6u black color and detail as per proforma invoice no. " will it be ok?

insufficient information
the credit as you specified is carry insufficient information. i think detail description of the goods is the best idea. but if it is too big, it must carry the quantity and unit price information.

depends on the context
whether a description of goods is sufficient or not depends on the context i think. if there is are many types of goods having there own weight and price detail, i dont think putting them all in the credit is really a good idea. the LC should be precise as possible. putting the price and weight detail is to some extent like copying the proforma invoice in LC and i think UCP600 has very clear position in this issue that we should avoid integrating proforma invoice into the LC.

description of goods under LC
i have not found any clear standing on how much of the goods detail should be included in a letter of credit. but my understanding says that the description of the goods can only be reviewed against the letter of credit. i think FAQ volume 1 by mr. collyer supports my view where he says
if the credit states that contract A forms an integral part of the credit........otherwise the bank will be expected to also review the document against the contract....
if there is no mention of the contract or proforma invoice forming an integral part of the credit, the goods description need only to comply with that in the credit
