Dear all,

Please give your kindly suggestion.

DC 47A stipulate: CCVO FORM C 16 IN TWO ORIGINAL.

Confirming bank raise discrepancy as: CCVO not include witness column as Nigerian's clause.

It's not reasonable. the CCVO FORM C 16 is provided by our Nigerian's client which do not include witness column.

is any opinion for argue with Confirming bank?

Does the l/c mention some additional requirements for the CCVO or additional clauses for Nigeria?

dear mia:

no other condition concern with CCVO in LC clause, but it stipulate FORM C16, do you think does UCP600 Article14 f apply?

Yes Indeed, art. 14 f of UCP600 should be applicable.

Almost all banks from Nigeria do add an additional condition stating how the CCVO should be issued.

for example:
The combined certificate of value and origin (form C16) signed and WITNESSED must contain the following details: form 'M' no, description of goods, port of destination in Nigeria (same as in field 45A), port of loading, B/L number/vessel or voyage number/shipping marks, frieght cost, applicant's name, address and contacts, beneficiary's name, address and contacts, beneficiary's name, address and contacts, date of shipment, country of origin and country of supply, the unit prices, FOB, freight cost and CFR values should be stated separately.

If the l/c doesn't state that CCVO should be WITNESSED confirming bank can not refuse on it.

I agree with Mia.

If the L/C does not specify that the CCVO needs to be witnessed, then it cannot be rejected for this.

Is there any specific institutions or board which is responsible of issuing CCVO, or as a manufacturer i a can prepare and sign by myself, i have almost 15x40ft'' Container from Tanzania to Rwanda
