BL Has 2 Shipped On Board Notation; Printed And Stamped

Post by dholat » Mon Oct 27, 2008 8:26 pm

pals,

i received an interesting Bill of lading. it shows -

_________________________________
Shipped on Board date

11-10-2008 (Pre Printed) 12-10-08 (using a Seal)

The BL has a separate issuance date but that is 11-10-2008. which one should be taken as the shipped on board notation?

the BL is also singed as follows

Signed for the carrier,

ABC International Lines Ltd

...........................
As Agent

is it ok? or does it require "as agent of the carrier"?

Can be determinable form the document in question that a transhipment has occured?. At first glance 2 on board notations generally indicate this.
