Hi all
L/C calls for C/P Bil marked 'freight prepaid'
Congenbill B/L presented marked 'freight prepaid' in 2 places
also in pre-printed wording states 'freight PAYABLE as per charter party dated ......'
is this a contradiction/discrepancy?
I think not but others disagree.
Thanks
Congenbill B/L

Hi Lordster
Agree with you.
Bill of lading evidence Freight prepaid which complies with LC requirement Freight prepaid.
Charter party condition should be seen as mere evidence the Freight is as per charter party contract. It neither states prepaid nor would be paid at port st of destination.
Thanks & Regards

Re: Congenbill B/L
Hi Pals,
IMHO we have freight prepaid or freight payable at destination/freight collect, so the sentence "freight payable as per charter party dated..." is not contradictory, see ISBP 745 G24
